If you haven't read the original post, please do so first.
We've moved into our new house and spent about $1400 or so having the central vac "roughed-in." But we still need to purchase all the other equipment and have it installed for another $2,000 and that is including the "repeat customer discount" (this is pretty sad for me - how many of you are repeat customers in 5 years for cental vac?).
However, even I have a tipping point and it was reached. Business is bad, and new house bills are coming at me from every direction - grass, landscaping, deck, furniture, carpet, etc. and I already have a $50 dirt devil from Meijer and (see last post) the future of vacuuming cordless device, and they do a fine job.
I am announcing to the public that under no condition will the central vac be installed in my home.
But what about the $1400 cost to rough-in? I don't care. I learned in Accounting 271 sunk costs should not dictate future decisions.
Enough is enough.

More March Madness
Meeechigan pulled it out....They were looking great until the last 5 mins, but I will take it. It was a huge win for the program and tomorrow vs Oklahoma there are no expectations - just happy to be there.
Illinois really choked last night.
Tonight Michigan State, Ohio State, and Wacky Wisc all play at 10pm. I enjoy watching the tournament, but I'm particularly interested in Big Ten (11) teams so this is disapointing. The main focus will be on MSU and I'm worried I won't be able to stay up to watch the whole thing b/c I only got 3 hours of sleep last night b/c the boy has an ear infection.

Lazy Boy
Lazy boy had a store liquidation sale in Ann Arbor - basically they are going out of business. We are in need of some furniture, so we decided to go check out the sale.
We bought a piece of furniture and requested delivery a month later when we move in. They never came, so we called and they said the piece of furniture was dammaged. They said they would fix it or order a new one or just give us our money back. That was last week, and now when we call they don't answer b/c the store is closed.
Great.

New House
We've finally moved into our new house. What a year it has been since we signed our purchase agreement last March.
1. Listing our house and coming to realization of the value
2. Packing up the house
3. Finding a place to rent for 9 mos.
4. Moving to the condo and putting 2/3 of our stuff in storage
5. Living in a condo 1/2 the size of the house we sold
6. Packing up the condo and unloading the storage unit at the new house
Moving twice in one year really sucks!
