Last night I was reading my 4 1/2 year old a story for bedtime and as usual, I paraphrase and skip pages to make it go by quicker. As I've documented earlier, I yawn and fall out when I read the same story over and over.
So when I got to the end of the story and said, "THE END," my boy was like, "Daddy, I think you missed some pages." I was able to convince him that I did not skip any pages, but I consider that a warning shot across the bow. I won't be able to get away with it too much longer.
I guess this is a good thing because he is either memorizing, comprehending, or at the very minimal paying attention. Progress!

Laugh Tracks
I just turned on the hotel TV and it turned on to a show I am not familiar with, and I was instantly annoyed by the constant Laugh Tracks. I was so annoyed that I decided to time one minute of the show on my watch and count the laugh tracks. The count totaled 10.
My favorite sitcoms right now are The Office, Modern Family, etc. They have no laugh track. Thank God. They are filmed more like a movie, and in my opinion, this makes for a much better show.
That is a LOL every six seconds. Seriously. This show I was watching was no only not funny, but it was dumb. And it was modern because several of the LOL's had to do with the iPhone. I could be at a Dave Chapelle live stand up show and not LOL every six seconds. Thankfully it appears most TV sitcoms are changing formats.

Hotel TV's
I am sick of hotel TV's. When you turn them on, they try endlessly to promote you to rent a movie or whatever. Usually they have a good selection of movies, but they are EXPENSIVE. My expectation for EXPENSIVE is around $12 for a movie. But at the Marriot in Wash DC we are staying at this weekend, the prices are $18. Obviously they feel like they can get this value, which leads me to ask, WHO IS PAYING THIS MUCH?
Knowing that the hotel movies are a ripoff, I brought the Apple TV with us, thinking we could hook it up to the TV in our room. However, it wouldn't work. I disconnected all of the cords hooked up to the TV, but I still couldn't change the input. UGH.
I have no idea how they could program the TV from changing the input, but they did....

Product Review: McDonald's Daily Double
My favorite fast food burger by far is the Whopper. Why? Because of the fixings.
When I was in high school, McDonalds had a basic single burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and mayo, and this was my "go-to" item when visiting the golden arches. Unfortunately for me, they discontinued that item after a brief stint on their menu and since then basically all their burgers are just beef and cheese.
Recently, McDonalds rolled out a new menu item, the "Daily Double," which is basically a double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. I had it today for lunch and I enjoyed it immensely. While not a Whopper, for $1.89, I love it.
