Last week our neighbors were in a car accident and had to make a brief stay at the hospital. Nothing serious, not overnight or anything, but still probably traumatic with a 6 year old in the car.
The next day I had the great idea of baking them brownies and dropping them off as a little treat for them. In fact, I baked the brownies myself, performed clean-up, and then had to leave for a late night work function. I asked wifey to pull the brownies out of the oven, cut them out, and take over to the neighbors on a plate (and to save me one). She then proceeded to text the neighbor to tell them we were bringing over a treat for them later tonight.
I came home later that night and asked if she dropped off the brownies at the neighbors and she said, "No, we ate them all."
That was 3 days ago. I bet they are wondering what happened. It is one thing to have the intention and then not following through. Then another to ANNOUNCE the intention and not follow through. Both are bad, announcing is 100 times worse.
